Carol Montgomery - Founder & CEO

Carol

Growing up in Britain, with a large vegetable garden and parents who composted and recycled everything they could lay their hands on, potted acorns and then planted their little oak trees wherever they could, (long before anyone knew what a carbon footprint was), Carol couldn’t help but be passionate about our beautiful planet.

An M.A. from Manchester led to 14 years as an art teacher. She has been a potter in the UK, a successful watercolor artist in Oman, and spent 10 years as a natural wellness consultant in Washington DC. Now in East Tennessee her entrepreneurial streak has taken wing - she has an international beverage distributorship with Xango LLC, and finally has given birth to Green Village Green LLC, which she plans to expand globally.

She loves her family and her animals, (including the lawn-mowing sheep, Seamus and Finnegan), her friends, her home in the Yorkshire Dales, interesting old buildings, natural beauty of every kind, and life in general.

Dan Carlson - Executive Editor

Dan

Dan credits the "Can Bank" with his earliest eco-friendly interests. This recycling machine lived in the parking lot of the neighborhood Piggly Wiggly. As a boy, Dan would stockpile his family's aluminum in order to feed it. His fascination with recycling and conservation has grown stronger ever since.

Since graduating from the University of Vermont, Dan has followed the career arc from bus boy to aspiring novelist. In between, he has worked in Human Resources at the Ritz-Carlton, Boston, and as the marketing copywriter for a small San Francisco travel company. He currently lives and writes in Knoxville, TN.
