We have, and it’s not easy. With the overwhelming amount of "green" info out there, how do you know what’s real? Sometimes it’s hard to find someone locally with the right ‘green’ certification.

Green Village Green was created to collect in one place all aspects of green building, and sustainable living, particularly information, so you can find what you need, and easily link to businesses in your area, or nationwide. We also think it is important to promote the folk, local and national, who provide these vital green products and services:

• Builders, architects, contractors, appliances, products
• Landscape architects, nurseries, sustainable irrigation
• Manufacturers and suppliers of products, materials and technology
• Periodicals, books, articles
• Educational establishments, career training, seminars
• Organizations, events, communities
• Anything that might be needed to make a living environment more sustainable, healthier for us and our planet.

Our Mission is:

• To give members a place to include every appropriate technology, service or product in the directory as soon as, or before, it becomes available.
• To make finding the information quick, easy, friendly and fun, whether you are looking to build a commercial estate or a new home, renovate an old one, replace a heat and air system, find green transportation, write a PhD thesis or a 7th grade science project, clean your home without chemicals, or want to consume locally produced food.
• To connect you, the public, with green businesses and resources in your area and nationally.
• To inspire each individual and business, nationally and then worldwide, to take the first step to sustainable living and making our planet a better place to live… and then the next step, and the next…

Green Village Green is a for-profit enterprise. We offer directory membership at no charge, and hope to keep it that way, by covering our costs with sponsorships, ads, and sales from the Green Village Green Shop. We’ll always include non-profit organizations for free.

Carol Montgomery - Founder & CEO

Growing up in Britain, with a large vegetable garden and parents who composted and recycled everything they could lay their hands on, potted acorns and then planted their little oak trees wherever they could, (long before anyone knew what a carbon footprint was), Carol couldn’t help but be passionate about our beautiful planet.

An M.A. from Manchester led to 14 years as an art teacher. She has been a potter in the UK, a PE teacher in Bangladesh (don’t ask!), a successful watercolor artist in Oman, and spent 10 years as a natural wellness consultant in Washington DC. Now in East Tennessee her entrepreneurial streak has taken wing - she has an international distributorship with Xango LLC, and finally has given birth to Green Village Green LLC, which, when it becomes a household name in the US, she plans to expand globally.

She loves her family and her animals, (including the lawn-mowing sheep, Seamus and Finnegan), her friends, her home in the Yorkshire Dales, interesting old buildings, natural beauty of every kind, and life in general.
